Yeshua is the best sacrifice, the only One who offers complete redemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am frequently asked about the Temple and whether preparations are being made for the building of a Third Temple. The answer is no. Although there are several organizations that teach about the Temple and have produced models of certain Temple vessels and priestly garments, none of these organizations hold any special status in Israel as an official Temple institute. It is important to understand that today several aspects concerning the Temple, its vessels and the priestly garments remain unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this week\u2019s Torah portion, Moses is commanded to collect various materials from the people for the Tabernacle. In verse 7 we read about \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d5\u05e2 \u05dd\u05d9\u05e9\u05d7\u05ea. Although many translations render this as skins of a badger, sea cow or porpoise, no one truly knows what the word \u05dd\u05d9\u05e9\u05d7\u05ea means. If the material itself is unknown, it is impossible to use it precisely for the purpose HaShem intended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biblical instructions concerning the Tabernacle and the Temple are of great importance, especially when the Book of Hebrews is used to understand the purpose of the worship that took place there. The primary truth, however, is the superiority of faith in Messiah Yeshua when worshiping G d. The Temple and its patterns were a reflection of a heavenly Temple. Through the Tabernacle and later the Temple one learns spiritual paradigms, but to truly enter the presence of the Living G d, Hebrews 9:23 teaches that a better sacrifice was required. What is this better sacrifice? The more appropriate question is who the better sacrifice is, and it is Messiah Yeshua Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Such a perspective is often viewed as conflicting with Judaism, since human sacrifice is considered forbidden. However, Rashi, the well known rabbinical commentator, taught that the death of righteous individuals brings atonement for sin (Numbers 20:1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rashi asks why the death of Miriam appears next to the passage concerning the Red Heifer. His answer is that just as sacrifices atone for sin, so too the death of righteous individuals carries an atoning significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The problem is that there are no righteous individuals, not even one. Solomon states that there is no righteous person on earth who does good and does not sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20). Therefore Yeshua came down from heaven to accomplish the work of redemption and to provide the means by which the believer can be eternally united with HaShem and worship Him anew.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
